
Tamás Patrovits
Animated film director, graphic artist, and art teacher. He finished his studies at the Hungarian University of Arts and Design (now Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design) in 1994, at the faculty of animation and video. During his career, Tamás made animation shorts, television series and commercials, hand-drawn and 2D computer animations. Since 1995, he teaches animation and creative design thinking. He is a member of ASIFA (Association International du Film d’Animation) since 2005, joined KOKSZ Műhely in 2013 and MUOSZ in 2014. He is the founder of the Faculty of Animation of Illyés Academy of Arts. He is an organizer of the International Day of Animation since 2005. In 2012, together with Anna Ida Orosz, founded Primanima World Festival of First Animations, and ever since he is the creative director of the event. He holds animation workshops regularly in Hungary and abroad as well (Filmtett workshop, LifeAd, Katowice/Poland, Nicosia/Cyprus, Peja/Kosovo, Dubai/Arab Emirates, New York/USA – Magyar Ház, etc.) He received the “Sárga Csikó” – “Yellow Colt” Award, for his contribution to the careers of numerous Transylvanian filmmakers and animators. Currently, he is the festival director of Primanima and the creative director of BABtér.
